New! Building with Clay: 

Ongoing class on Thursdays, 6-8 pm. Adults age 16 and over.  Learn to do hand-built clay art.  Slab, coil and sculpture; red and white clays available.  Basic fee is $10 per week, supplies are extra (clay is 75 cents per pound, firing and glazes (which are taught in class) are extra and price depends on student's choice).  Kiln instruction is also given with expectations to share kiln sitting time.

Adult Art:  

Advanced Independant Study medium of your choice.  One on one instruction with instructor, work at your pace on your project or the instructor can supply you with ideas and source material.  Fees for this age 16 through adult class is $10 per week (three Wednesdays per month). Some supplies included or available or bring your own.  Class is on-going and is held on Wednesdays from 6 to 8 pm.

Adult Stained Glass  

Learn the basics of stained glass art, and continue at your own pace.  Fee is $ 10.00 per week  for this ongoing class.  Some supplies provided by the instructor.   Please contact instructor Brenda Mason for dates and times, at 740-927-8925.

Glass Fusing Workshop: 

Learn the unique art of fusing by making one-of-a-kind pieces for jewelry.  Beautful Dichroic Glass makes each piece unique.  Make either free form pieces or use moulds which are available for more consistent pieces.  Instruction on jewelry kilns are also given.  Class is held on the first Tuesday of the month, from 6pm to 8 pm.  Pick up your piece the following Tuesday, at the same times, with some jewelry findings available to finish.  Fee is $25 per month;  glass and some supplies are included.  Jewelry findings are extra.

Beginning/Intermediate Oils

Tuesdays throughout the year 1-4 pm or 6-9 pm. Ages 13-Adult

Patty Sykes, Artist and Certified Robert Warren Instructor will teach oil painting.  The instructor provides step by step instruction in oil techniques.  Learn layering and color through demonstrations and individual attention.  The class is taught without the use of turpentine and is suitable for beginning and intermediate students.  No prior knowledge is required. We will be painting floral and landscape scenes.

Kids Art Classes:

Classes for children ages 8 to 15.  These fun, on-going classes are held on your choice of Wednesdays or Thursdays, from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm.   Fee is $9 per week.

Beginning Crochet Class: 

Learn the basic stitches (single, double, half-double, treble crochet).  Make an easy scarf and hat. Patterns are provided.  Please bring size H8 Crochet hook, with 2 skeins Red Heart Super Saver, worsted weight, 4 ply yarn, 5 oz or 278 yards,  in your choice of color, using multicolor, self-striping, or plain.  Fee is $15 for this 4 week class.

CPR/AED in the Community and Workplace: 

This class, taught by a Certified American Safety and Health Institute/Paramedic/Firefighter, provides you with your 2 year certification from the American Safety and Health Institute, for your workplace or your work in the community (coaching, scouts, day-care, etc.).  The cost is $25.00 per person.  The class is scheduled for Saturday March 8, at the POP Arts Center, at 9 am.  Please register with the instructor by Thursday March 6, at 588-9328 or bsmith@cprfiresafety.com.  Also see www.cprfiresafety.com for more information.

First Aid in the Community and Workplace: 

 Also taught by a Certified Instructor, this class provides a 3 year certification to you for your workplace and community work (coaching, scouts, day-care, etc.) and can be taught in conjunction with the above CPR/AED class on the same day for a reduced cost.  The cost for this class is $25.00 per person.  Both classes can be scheduled for the same day and taught for a cost of $40.00 per person. Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS):

For the new or seasoned Babysitter.  Provides the American Safety and Health Institute 2 year Certification.  Class includes CPR & First AID.  Fee $20.00 per person and class will be held at the POP Arts Center.   There is a minimum required for the class and sign-ups are required in advance.  The first class is scheduled for Saturday February 16, at 1:00 pm.  Please register by Thursday February 14  by calling the POP Arts center at 833-9040. Beginning Guitar Class

Join POP Arts instructor Gary Bowen as you start playing your acoustic guitar in his class "5 Weeks Through the Guitar". This course is designed for people who have always wanted to start playing guitar.  Class meets for 5 weeks only.  You WILL be playing songs by the end of the course.
